Poem - Ever wonder, My baby?

Ever wonder, my baby, why I’m in your head
but the only time I am in your thoughts
Is when you’re alone in bed?
Why is it that I have to be the one
That has to be alone and undone?
Ever wonder, my baby, why I have to live
On little morsels of life
you throw me?
I don’t even know if you see me
All those times that I am out of your life
You walk around, living and breathing
And loving and mating
And I have to wait for you to make
A little slice of time for me
A little piece of heaven For when we
are together, I can forget
those other times I was starving for you
The many times I was craving for you
Now I can have you to last me
A lifetime.
A lifetime of pain, why should I live that way?
Alone and undone
Why does it have to be your way?
Just take my hand and say with me

And I can go peacefully away.

There is a song in the Hindi movie - 'Rock On' - called 'Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein'. I find Javed Akhtar's incredible lyricism in this something that inspired a translation.Simple. Beautiful. Here's my humble homage to Javed Akhtar - a translation of the lyrics..

These words that you and I speak, let them go on and on

These times that you and I meet,  let them go on and on

And so goes on all our days and our nights

New words are formed from our words

And we take those words and make them songs

Songs that touch hearts, everyone`s hearts

Then the words melt into tunes

And the tunes meld into songs

And we adorn these songs with joy

So whoever hears them, sings...
